I found a John McDonough in Capt. D. A. Wilds Mounted Volunteers and the 2nd Seminole War. John was born in Raleigh, Wake County, NC in 1798. He was in East Tennessee by about 1807. He married in Rhea CO, TN in 1821. His parents lived in Bledsoe County, TN.

Does anyone know of Captain Wild's Volunteers?

Thanks,
Georgia Mathis Cummons
