I'm seeking information on Adolphus Patton McClatchey who was allegedly a colonel during the Seminole Wars.

(Col) Adolphus Patton 'A. P.' MCCLATCHEY
b. 13 May 1805, Buncombe Co, NC
son of John MCCLATCHEY II and his second wife, Elizabeth Mallory 'Betsy' PATTON
d. 3 February 1863 at McMinn Co, TN.

He was serving as a private soldier and wagonmaster and was hauling munitions when there was an accident and he was killed. He was called 'Col' during his life, on the strength of allegedly serving as a colonel during the Seminole Wars. I have not been able to turn up any information about his Seminole service. Any help appreciated.

Beau
