The Dallas Library (downtown) has a series of books listing all names of people who applied for pensions from all the wars. That is where I found the pension listing for Hannah Nicholson Morgan wife of Samuel Morgan. It had the pension # so I sent to the Nat'l Archives for the pension record. It cost $35.00 but was well worth it because of all the information it contained concerning Samuel Morgan. I believe she applied for it in the 1880's.
If you live near a large library you might check in their genealogy dept.
