In 1752, Johannn Setzler and his wife Anna Maria and their 5 children left Michelfeld for PA, one of the 5 children, George Christian born in 1749,settled in Jonestown, Lebanon "County, PA., where he was a joiner. The chests he made and decorated were among the first pieces of decorated furniture to be recognized by the collectors of Americana. A chest signed and dated 1796 by Seltzer is in the Winterthur Museum, object 59.2803 (this is no longer on display, so if you are going to be in the area and would like to see it, you have to call ahead).
