Hi Shelli
I have Sarah Anne in my tree. She is (as you say)on the IGI, but I have had it confirmed independently. The IGI is very reliable usually, though obviously the details are not always as full as one would like. Unfortunately theses are often the only records that exist.
Sarah Anne SELMES. Christening: 25 DEC 1835 Mountfield, Sussex, England.
She is indeed the Daughter of Solomon and Eliza. I have 7 siblings for her, all born in Mountfield. Mountfield is a fairly small place, and many SELMESes are recorded there. My Great grandmother (Maria Elcey SELMES) was born there, at John's Cross, and there is a Road at John's Cross called Solomon's Lane.
Solomon had at least 4 siblings, one of whom was Samuel. Samuel is my ggg grandfather. I have parents and grandparents for Solomon, as well as descendants, and nearly 100 other SELMES relatives. I am in touch with several other SELMES descendants (some in Australia, and some here in England) if you are interested?
Regards
Phil HOW
