Selmes in Sussex again

Just thought I'd share my observations. The name Selmes appears to be very uncommon. Our various branches mainly seem to be concentrated in a 5 mile radius with Brede being the epicentre! I was wondering whether the name originated in this area. If it does then the chances are that all of us searching for Sussex Selmes are related somehow - it's just a case of trying to find the link!!
