I have a question about someone who is with the Wiley Selman family on the 1870 and 1880 censuses. Listed among the family is a Benjamin H Selman, who moved with them from Georgia to Sevier county, Arkansas.

In 1870 he is 8 years old, and listed after the other children. in 1880, he is with Wiley's widow, and listed as a son. Is this an adopted child, a nephew living with the family who was later considered a son???

Thanks in advance if anyone can answer this!
