Melody, I found abit of information about Jesse Selman/Selman, as follows: Jesse Silman Hancock County, Ill. Males Under 5 (1) 5-10 (1) 50-60 (1) Females Under 5 (2) 5-10 (3) 10-15 (2) 20-30 (1) 30-40 (1) Benjamin Silman. Marion County, Tn. 2 males 5 - 10 yrs 1 male 10 - 15 yrs 1 male 15 - 20 yrs 1 male 30 - 40 yrs 2 females Under 5 1 female 5 - 10 yrs 1 female 10 - 15 yrs 1 female 30 - 40 yrs According to one source, the male 15-20 is Jesse Selman, about 19 yrs of age. There is also a Jesse Selman and a Benjamin Selman in the Marion County, Tn. Deed Book B, 1819-30, p. 280, 283, 293, 341 and 348. However, the court house burned and all old records were destroyed in 1922. I would like to find out more about your Selman line. Often, family names are handed down. Can you tell me the spouses of Winifred, Georgia, Thomas and Mickey, their children, grandchildren & great-grand children & where all of them lived. There is probably a clue somewhere that would be helpful to me. If you know the nationality or race, that may be helpful. I have info on German, English, Canadian, Morman, black & several Indian lines that Selmans married into including Delaware & Choctaw. I know of certain lines that were Baptist, Methodist, etc. Occupations could be helpful. Many Selmans were farmers, merchants. One Selman, a physician, helped write the Iowa Constitution. Others served in state legislatures. Whatever info you have should help me research. I have at least 50,000 pages of info on Selmans. Thank you. Bill Selman Notify Administrator about this message?
