Sharron,
Our cousin Charles McFarland has a theory that Micah Sellers' brother Isaiah was the captain of Mark Twain fame. He has done research on the life of the captain, and has been in touch with a woman in CA who has the captain's diary. The captain was reportedly born about 1803 in Iradell Co NC which is more or less our guys' territory. Our Isaiah was married(by brother Micah) to Nancy Todd in 1822. They are on the 1830 Rhea Co TN census, then they sort of disappear. The captain was married to a woman with another name, and I don't have the dates of that marriage, etc. An Isaiah Sellers is in several deeds in Burke Co NC around or prior to 1820. Isaiah inherited Cain Sellers estate in Rhea Co TN in 1826. No other Sellers researcher so far has told me of records of land in Rhea Co being sold off, etc. So I don't have a proven connection. Cousin Charles is thoroughly convinced, though, that the two Isaiah's are the same person. I'd welcome any evidence, pro or con.
Cindy
