Hello Mr. Looney,
I am researching my ZACHER 1st cousins family, and they are apparently the great-grandchildren of Rosina; descended from her son, John G. ZACHER, who married Naomi POSEY about 1907 in Akron, OH. A family Bible belonging to my cousins states that Rosina or Rose's maiden name was LOEB, and she married Anthony ZACHER.
According to 1900 Census Record in Philadelphia, Rosina ZACHER was a widow with 4 sons; Rudolph, John, Anthony, and Frederick. I believe that she married a Franze SELL abt 1906. Franze SELL and wife, Rosina, are in 1910 Census Record, but all children are out of the home at this time. According to FindAGrave.com, a Franze SELL, b: 1843; d: 1916 is buried at Fernwood Cemetery, Fernwood, PA.
My cousins have a picture that states on back is Grandmother & step grandfather ZELL.
I haven't been able to find Rosina "Rose" ZACHER or SELL/ZELL in 1920 Census. The 1918 WW I Draft Registration of a Frederick ZACHER in PA (who I believe is Rosina's youngest son) states that he has to support his Mother. This would fit if Mr. SELL/ZELL died in 1916. Rosina's oldest son, Rudolph was also in PA at this time; 2nd son, John G. was in Akron, OH; 3rd son, Anthony Charles ZACHER worked in Akron, OH for a short time in 1907 and then transferred to the Boston, MA area where he settled.
If you can fill in any blanks, please let me know.
Thanks and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Jimmy M. Sisson
