Detlef Sell whose son John emigrated from Schleswig to NY.

Seeking lineage of my great grandfather John Sell (1868-1940 or 1941), who emigrated from Schleswig-Holstein in the late 1800's to NYC, thence to Monsey, Wallkill and Walden NY. His wife was Henrietta Schulte (1877-c1940).

John's parents were Detlef Sell and Margaretha Elise (surname unknown), dates unknown, but whose children's Anglicized names were Anna, Frederick, Henry, John, Magdalen, Margaret, and possibly Robert. I believe Detlef didn't emigrate.

We've long been told that we're related to singer Hildegarde Sell, whose lineage is documented in this forum (daughter of Charles Friedrich Sell, son of Jurgen Christian Sell, son of Christian Friedrich Sell, son of Jurgen Christian Sell, whose line likewise emigrated from Schleswig (to New Holstein WI).

Can someone tie Detlef into this line?
