Sorry, but my research into my Selfridge ancestry contains nothing about any HARRY Selfridge other than my father and grandfather (both with middle name Gordon); they were both only sons, and neither of them ever worked for a ladder company. I have not come across any Wilbur Selfridge, either. However, the Selfridge family that arrived in New England from Ulster in 1718 was very prolific, and they moved west generation by generation, resulting in many cousins with the Selfridge surname.
