I am interested in these messages from Selfridges. I live in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland. My grandfather, Thomas Selfridge came to Scotland from County Derry, N.I. circa 1900, aged about 20 years. Severeral brothers and at least one sister also came to Hamilton. One brother, at least went to Canada, to Sydney Mines. His parents, Joseph & Agnes(I think), remained in Ireland. My grandfather married Mary Jane O'Brien and had two sons. Joseph, my father, born 1904 and John, who died in infancy, born 1906/7. Sadly Thomas Selfridge died in 1907. My grandmother remarried and later moved to England. My father remained in Scotland but had little or no contact with the Selfridge family mainly because of religious differences. If anyone knows anything of the roots of this branch of the Selfridge family I would be grateful.
