Hi Paul, I have no info on John except I believe he was born closer to 1850, much later than his brother,my ancestor Philip who was born 1820. However, the area you mention would be right in the neighborhood of what family lore says is where the Seiferts first settled in Ohio, coming over the water and landing near Cleveland, to the south somewhere of there, is what I recall a distant cousin told me.
My Seiferts were Catholic, and I presume the seminary you speak of was Catholic? There might be a link somewhere.
John's twin sister Catherine is said to have married an Anton or Andrew Rendler, if that is any help.
I you should find those names in the area, we will have made that link. - Susan
