Hey Chad, I'm your second cousin Jan. My mom, Doris Seiders, is Aunt to your father Jack. If you're looking for Seiders history, contact Don West - your Dad probably has his number, but if not, your grandad does for sure. I went to the reunion we had a few years ago and they did a great history of the Schaeffer (not sure of spelling) and Seiders family. Turns out our families came to the Austin area with Travis when the Mexican government gave the US part of Texas as a buffer between their farmers and the Commanchee Indians. The Seiders were part of the "old 400" or maybe it's the "old 100" families that settled the Austin area. If I remember right from Granny Bess we came from the North Carolina area, and the oldest relative names I can remember were a John and Elizabeth Seiders from North Carolina. I hope it helps, and let me know what you find!
