Seyfred Seiber --Phillip Seiber
While surfing the net looking for new info I have found so many files
about Seyfred Seiber connected to my Phillip Seiber born abt.
1760-1770,died in Anderson Co. TN.
I would like to take this time to give you proof of some errors made in
this file.
My GGG grandfather was Samuel P. Seiber born abt. 1823(acc. to1850
Anderson Co. census record) married to Mary Elenor Bunch (born Feb.
14,1829(according. to tombstone) m: Jan. 16,1847. I have the marriage
Record from McClung Library.
I also have documented proof that Samuel died October 15,1858 (Estate
Settlement) in Anderson Co. TN.
According to Settlement children were
James Seiber
Isaac Seiber
John Seiber
Pleasant Seiber
Nancy M. Seiber
I have no proof of who Samuel’s parents are but I do know that Samuel
Wesley Seiber (born April 5,1790) son of Phillip Seiber, was not.
According to Samuel W. Seibers bible records his son Samuel twin to
Mariah was born in 1827 and died Aug 2,1842.
After studying the census records with another researcher we both feel
that my Samuel’s parents could be John Seiber and Malinda Lively, but
no real documented proof. The reason we believe this is that according
to the census records John Seiber and Malinda really had 14 children
and in most all family files only 12 are listed and after reviewing all
of the
possibilities they are the only family he fits to. Also I am told that
in
Stonewall Jackson Seibers (son of John Seiber & Malinda Lively) family
bible it states that Samuel Seiber
married Elizabeth Bunch, but as of yet I have no copy of it.
Rev. John and Milly had several male children that were not accounted
for. They had 8 male children before 1830 and 3 additional male
children by
1840. So he had 12 boys.
1. Levi Seiber
2. Pleasant Seiber
3. Phillip Seiber
4. Stephen Seiber
5. Stonewall Seiber
6. Clarissa seiber
7. Frederick Seiber
8. Hiram Seiber
9. Malinda Seiber
10. George Seiber
11. Mark Seiber
12. Jordan Seiber
(1)1830 TN, Anderson Co, A-194; John Sebre 332001-010001; 3 males 0-5, 3
males 5-10; 2 males 10-15, 1 male 30-40 (John); 1 female 5-10, 1 female
30-40.
(2)1840 TN, Anderson Co, A-27; John Leiber, 2132101-1101001, 2 male 0-5,
1
male 5-10, 3 male 10-15, 2 male 15-20, 1 male 20-30, 1 male 30-40, 1
male
40-50; 1 female 0-5, 1 female 5-10, 1 female 15-20, 1 female 40-50.
I have added John who married Barbara as a child of John and Milly. My
reasoning is that most men will name a male child after themselves and
John
would have been the first born.
I have added this Samuel just because I figure that he would have named
one
of his 12 children after his older brother Samuel.I know that it is a
long shot. But, there were no other Seibers on the census for Anderson
Co,
so these stray men have to belong to someone and since I couldn't
account
for all of John and Milly's children these fit right intoplace...
We know that John and Samuel were not Samuel's because all his children
can
be accounted for according to the census and Bible record. And I doubt
that
he would have 2 John's and 2 Samuel's.
Looking at Philip Sr. children in Anderson Co...
1)Since the older Philip Jr. nor Frederick can not be found in Anderson
Co,
on the 1830 or 1840 census they are out of the running to claim Samuel
or
John that married Barbara.
2)Nimrod didn't have male children by 1830 that leaves him out.
3)Joseph didn't get married until the 1850's he's not in the running.
4)Robert would have been only 11 in 1823.
I figure that John P is the only one left.So that's where I put
them...
There will be some who don't agree with me; I'm sure. But until someone
can
prove me wrong I'll probably leave it as it is.
Can anyone out there help me prove this or dispute it?
Facts to Ponder
Does anyone have any proof that Phillip Seibers first wife was Maria
Himmelberger? Married abt. 1786. Also shown as Catherine
She was born December 22, 1768 in Germany
This info found on Family Tree Maker
CD 178
I found some church records that could be a possibility.
First Reform Church of Baltimore MD.
Birth Records for 1792
Phillip and Catherine Seiber
1.Johann Frederich Seiber born May 26 1792 ---guardian --George Geltzer
Phillip and Catherine Maria Seiber --Parents
2.Phillip Seiber born Oct.6,1794---- parents as guardians
Phillip Seibers second wife was Mary Lively
Marriage Records
MARRIAGE: Seber, Philip to Mary Liveley; bn; Jan 27, 1802, Peter
Eckel??,married, on January 29, 1802 by P Taylor, JP "Jefferson Co, TN
Marriage Records 1792- 1870" by D'Armand.
Fact:
This shows us that any of Phillips children born before 1802 belonged to
his first marriage.
According to The Lively Book, the Seiber’s and Livelys traveled together
from Pa. or MD. together. It is possible that Maria could have died
during child birth and Phillip met Mary Lively on their journey to
Tennessee.
For those who have traced the Seiber line back to the 1500's would they
be willing to share some documentation on their research?
Thanks Sandy
