The descendants of Capt Nehemiah Seeley and his wife Mary Hopkins does descend from Stephen Hopkins/1631 & wife Dorcas Bronson, but there is no proof that Stephen Hopkins/1631 or his father John Hopkins/1613 & wife Jane Strong are related to Stephen Hopkins/1581 & his wife Constance Mary Dudley who are of the Mayflower fame.
It has long been a speculation that John/1613 (father of Stephen/1631), aka "John Hopkins of Cambridge" was the son of Stephen Hopkins/1581 who arrived in Plymouth on the Mayflower. It was thought but never proven that John of Cambridge was a son born to Stephen & Constance who arrived after his father had landed in Plymouth 1620.
Capt Nehemiah Seely's wife Mary Hopkins is the link to the Hopkins family in this Seeley line. There are two different birthdates for Mary Hopkins and no prove of which family she belongs.
One birthdate is April 12, 1750, and the other is Septeber 12, 1750 both have her born in New York.If she was born in September then she belongs to Mayflower Giles Hopkins. If born in September then she belongs to the "John of Cambridge" family. Or, as very few records are found for her she may not belong to any of the Mayflower families.
