Reuben Hopkins b1748 m. 1773 Hannah Elliott. They had 8 children:
Elliott Hopkins b 1774 m. Julia Howell & lived in OH
William Hector Hopkins 1778-1840 St. Louis, MO
Benjamin Bronson Hopkins b1776 d. Augusta, GA
Hannibal Mason Hopkins 1788-1872
Rebecca Hopkins 1781-1816
3 other daughters

Rebecca Hopkins married Samuel Satterly Seeley on May 17, 1806 in the Presbyterian Church of Goshen, Orange Co., NY, of which both families were members. Samuel was the son of Bazaleel Seeley b1741 CT & Zerviah Satterly and the grandson of Jonas Seeley & Sarah Bartlett. He was born Dec. 7, 1782 in Chester, Orange Co., NY.

Rebecca & Samuel lived with his parents in Hector, Schuyler Co, NY in the 1810 US census. They had 3 known children:
Joseph Hinchman Seeley & Stephen Hopkins Seeley both died in infancy. Catherine Seeley m. Ichabod Conklin.

Samuel married 2nd Hannah McDowell & had some children with her. He died 1839 buried Elmira, NY.

I found a beautiful calling card for Miss Hallie Seeley in a scrapbook of my g-grandmother Hattie (Hopkins) Haddox 1868 IA - 1955 IA. I'm trying to find the Hopkins-Seeley connection to Hattie, who lived most of her life in Webster City, Hamilton Co., IA. She was the daughter of William Henry Hopkins b 1838 Springville, Erie Co., NY, who married Kate Bryant Moore in 1864 in Jackson Co., IA.

Family lore says we descend from RI Gov. Stephen Hopkins 1707-1785, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Reuben Hopkins also descends from Stephen Hopkins of RI.

I don't know the names of William Henry Hopkins PARENTS.
His father was born @ 1800 in NY State. Any clues greatly appreciated!
