Hi Andrew

It looks like William and his sister Matilda Varley S were baptised on the same day at Hunslet - 8 June 1824. According to the LDS site the mother is given as Maria with no fathers name. I have found another assumed sister Sophia Varley Sedgwick who married William W Wilson in 1842. Matilda married Charles Procter in 1845.

To find out the fathers name you need to buy one of the marriage certificates but you should be aware that it is quite possible that Maria was unmarried and that Varley was the fathers name.

Please e-mail me and I can send you some links to useful sites.

Nicky
