Howdo
I have a ref to an Alfred L Seddon born 1 Oct 1876.
You are looking for Alfred Louis Seddon, abt 1875 from Ringley. There was an Alfred Seddon who went to the US in the ship Lake Superior arriving 9 Apr 1888 aged 11. His father was Robert Seddon aged 40 a fitter born Ringley. There destination was Massachusetts.
From the 1881 census, 10 Delauney's Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, Lancashire England
Robert Seddon, head aged 33, Mechanic, born Outwood(ringley)
Mary (Smith poss) wife aged 31, born Outwood
John, son aged 10, born Outwood
Elizabeth,dau aged 8 born Outwood
Alfred, son aged 5, born Outwood
Ellen, dau aged 3, born Blackley
Edwin T, son aged 1 born Blackley
I also think that in the 1871 census Robert and Mary lived at Ringley old Brow and he was described as a Coal Miner.
I would suggest that Robert was the son of Thomas and Catharine Seddon which in the 1851 and 1861 census lived at Ringley Old Brow.
If you agree that the above is correct, contact me and I will try to help you further back with this family.
Seddon,s could be found at Ringley in the 1400's
Dan Seddon
