Ira A. Sechrist b.Dec 23, 1845 and died Oct 29, 1891 was from York, PA. He married Barbara Caslow (also had surnames of Hess and Gabeling) He raised all of his children there. They all stayed in the area.
He and Barbara died early, leaving the children to be taken in by friends and family.
For the life of me I cannot find out his ancestry.
He spelled his name on the 1880 Census of York, PA as Seachrist.
I have posted this before here on Gen Forum.
His children were:
Henry Edward
Jacob Alfred
Emma Elizabeth
George Washington
Daniel Webster
Charles Augustus (my grandfather)
Wiliam Winfield
Bertha Annie
