I went to the cited web site that has a citation that "Sechlers came from Switzerland" and it lists the same article on Sechlers I was originally responding to on the Sechler Gen Forum with a question, so we are going in circles so to speak. The article says "The early history of the Sechler family in America is somewhat traditional, but it is known that individuals of that name came from Switzerland . . ." This is the statement to which My question was directed. What citations or evidence is there to support that Sechlers came from Switzerland. There did not seem to be evidence in this article. I believe I may have found Johannes Sechler, the original Sechler in America, in Germany and can cite church records. It is possible that earlier Sechlers originally came from Switzerland so I am trying to cross check this statement. Thanks, Chuck.
