Penny, you still out there? The first Stephen Sebastian may have come to England from Bavaria before sailing to Maryland in 1674 or 1675. His rights were proven in Maryland in 1675. Anyway, I done more research and Mary Polly (Snow) Prewitt's mother was Mary Polly FORD, daughter of Peter FORD (Faure, a huguenet)who was kidnapped in an indian raid called McNitt's Defeat. Many of her family were killed, she and a cousin Elizabeth were taken. She was about 7 or 8 years old. It is not known what happened to Elizabeth. The indians that kidnapped her sold/traded her to the Miami tribe and when she became of age, she married Little Turtle and they had 3 or 4 children. Then Little Turtle became Chief. He was friendly with the whites and was very much for peace. She was then "kidnapped" back and married John Prewitt/Pruitt.Our story was that the "Snow" in GG Grandma name was a love/tribute for the indian life she was forced to leave.
