Obituary for Frank Locke SEAWRIGHT of Honea Path, South Carolina
FRANK SEAWRIGHT
HONEA PATH- Frank Locke Seawright, 88, husband of Peggy Stribling Seawright, of 213 Blue Barker Road died Friday, August 20, 2010 at Covenant Way in Due West, SC, after a month long illness at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Born in Antreville, SC, on November 16, 1921, he was a son of the late John Middleton and Mary Evans Seawright. He was a veteran of the US Army, World War II and received the Purple Heart. He graduated from Erskine College and became a teacher and coach at Honea Path High School. He later went to work for Standard Life Insurance Company, where he sold school insurance throughout the state for over fifty years. He retired from Standard Life as Vice President. He was a member of the Honea Path Presbyterian Church for over sixty years, where he had served as Sunday School teacher, deacon, treasurer, elder, elder emeritus, and trustee. He was a former Boy Scout leader, a member and past president of the Lions Club, an organizing leader of the Honea Path Recreation, and was on the community bank board of the former Capital Bank of Belton-Honea Path, now BBT.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years; a daughter and son-in-law, William and Vicki Seawright Hall; a son and daughter-in-law, Quinn and Leah Seawright; and two grandchildren, Allison and Matthew Seawright, all of Honea Path.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family including his parents and nine siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Honea Path Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Deborah Broadwell officiating.
