Your data is the first I have seen that might possibly be the parents of my John Sears b. 1818 in KY. My John Sears first shows up in records in 1837, Coles Co., IL with his marriage to Hetty Ann Radley. They had two daus. and the first son was named Abram/Abraham (my ancestor) b. in 1840. By 1850 this family had moved to southwest Wisc., and by 1855/6 they were in southeast Neb. The 1860 Otoe Co., NE, census shows a Susan Sears in their household (b. 1815, KY), and we had never seen her attached to this family before. She doesn't show up with them in later census records either. By 1870 the family was in Holt Co., MO, and by 1880 they were in Osborne Co., KS. Then on to Ravalli Co., Montana by 1886. They just didn't stop moving.

Do you have parents of your Abram Sears, or children he might have had? I would really like to see just what kind of records he might have had.

The Coles Co., IL early records show an Abram Seares and John Seares among early settlers somewhere between 1830-1835. I've never found other data on them. There was an Abram Sears that had a military land grant in western IL (Adams or Fulton Co.), but I haven't been able to trace them either. At a later time an Abraham/Abram Sears shows up at Ft. Leavenworth, KS as well, so that one could have been attached to the army somehow.

Thank you so much for replying. Will wait to hear from you.
