I was able to make a copy of “Lewis Seers” death certificate online. It gives some possible strength to the statement that he was son of a Charles Seers and Matilda (Moore), however still leaves some question as to whether Lewis’ father, Charles, was son of Frederic Sears of Iowa. It appears to me to certify the last name spelled “SEERS.” Married. Wife’s name: “Esther Wright.” Death date was December 5, 1931 and Birth date was May 12, 1876. Father was “Chas Seers” born in Miller County, MO. Mother was “Matilda Moore” born in Cooper County, MO. Informant was “Mrs Seers.” The death certificate #41570 was filled in with the worst handwriting I have ever seen. The doctor’s name is in the same handwriting, and I can’t interpret it.
