Pioneer of Inkster Community Is Dead
Inkster, N.D. (Special)
J.S.B Sears, 66 years old, a pioneer settler of this community, died at his home here at 8:30 PM Thursday. He had been ill for the past 3 years with a kidney ailment. Funeral arrangements have not been made pending word from relatives.

Masonic Services arranged for J S B Sears, Pioneer of County
Inkster, ND (Special)
Funeral services will be held in the Masonic temple here Sunday for J S B Sears, 66 years old, Grand Forks county pioneer, who died here Thursday after an illness which confined him to his bed for more than two years.

Rev T. A. Olson, pastor of the Community church here, will officiate at the service and burial will be in the Inkster cemetery. Pall bearers will be Dan Sutherland, Neil Johnston, James Bolger and T. McNally of Inkster and George Stoffel and Hans Kleven of Orr.

Born Feb 16, 1866 at Montgomery, N. Y., Mr Sears came west when he was 15 years old and settled at Grand Forks. A year later he moved to Inkster which has been his home since. For a time he farmed on land he purchased when he was 19 years old and later went into the butcher business which he conducted until illness forced him to retire.

Mr Sears was mayor of Inkster for several years and held other public offices. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, the Masonic lodge and Shrine. He was a charter member of the Inkster Masonic lodge.

Survivors are his wife and one daughter, Mrs. James Shannon of Winnipeg and a grandson, John Shannon. A son and daughter died.

Mrs. Jennie Sears of Inkster, 69 years old, died early Wednesday in a hospital here. She had been ill two weeks with a heart ailment.

She was the widow of the late JB Sears who died six years ago. Mrs Sears was born in Bruce county, Ont, Feb 24, 1870.

Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. James Shannon of Winnipeg and five sisters, Mrs. Mary Phalen of Deer Lodge, Mont, Mrs. H M Webster of Los Angeles, Mrs R J Church of Rockford, Ill, Mrs Agnes Hamilton of Deer River, Minn, and Mrs Margaret Rogers in Ontario.

Rites will be held in the Inkster Presbyterian church Saturday at 2:30 PM and burial will be in Inkster cemetery.
