Well thats fine then, I do thank you for all the Info you did provide, there is a book written in 1902 by a photographer on board the Brooklyn during the Spanish American war,George Edward Graham, it's called "Schley and Santiago", it can be found free to view on Google books. It mentions James sears very often, and you can see the Respect Admiral Schley had for him in the accounts in the book, thought you might want to take a look at that. I will try and find the writing you mentioned that James did for the Navy, that would reveal some personality in his style of writing. I will let you know when things are finishing up on the book, I'm keeping all inquires in a file for such a purpose, to give credit for sources of information in the book.
