NY m. Johanna Tompkins b Pleasant Valley, Dutchess Co., NY Ch: Daniel, Willis, and Abraham & 8 girls Abraham purchased a farm in The Wilderness prob c1784. Prob the "Abm Searles" at Coeymans NY in 1800 US census. Son Daniel may be the Daniel at Carmel, Dutchess Co., in the 1800 USC and at New Castle in 1810. 3. Abraham Searls b. Niles Searls, Sr. b 22 Dec 1825 Coeymans, Albany Co., NY d. 8 Jun 1907 CA m. 25 May 1853 Mary Corinthia Niles, d/o Henry 6 & Hannah Niles b. 29 Jan 1830 d. 23 Jul 1910 CA Niles took his law degree in 1848 at Fowler Law School Cherry Valley Otsego Co Co., NY. He opened a law office in Mo soon after, and joined the Gold Rush in 1849 to Calif with his friend Charles Mulford. They sold onions and potatoes and prospected. He returned in 1853 to NY to marry his first cousin. They returned to Ca including Mary's brother, Addison Niles. Niles was District Att'ty, Judge, State Senator in 1875, & Chief Justice 1886-1888. Cousin Addison was an Associate Justice (1872-1880). The town of Niles (now p/o Fremont) is named for Addison and is the where the Niles Depot is located and is where the first movies were made.
