I'm trying to find the parents of my gg-grandfather, Edward Rashleigh who had a farm in Carrigfadda/Carrigagrenene, County Cork, Ireland. I'm hoping to connect to the Rashleigh family which originated around 1100-1300 in Barnstable, Devon and branched out into Cornwall. Edward either traces to a John and Edward, tituladoes/landowners in Cromwell's 1650 census of Ireland OR,as one cousin hinted, he may have been born in London in late 1700's. I did find a Jonathan Rashleigh married to a Mary Anne Sealy 11 Oct 1803 in Broughton Hampshire, England. I think they may be same parents of an Edward Rashleigh, born 16,Feb 1812 at St Andrew, Holborn, London. I know Edward had a daughter named Mary Anne by first wife. Could she have been named for her grandmother? Also, there was a Marmaduke Sealy in Broughton with wife Sarah. Could they be connected to Mary Anne? Any help would be appreciated. Jeanne(McCarthy) DeSantis
