I failed to make this comment on my previous post, for what it is worth:
Although he could not possibly have served in the military during the Revolutionary War, I think there is a possibility that he served during the War of 1812.
Joshua moved to Mississippi Territory quite early - around 1811-1812. He lived near his younger brother, Daniel Seale. Daniel joined the Mississippi Militia in 1813-1814, and I believe is a good chance that Joshua joined also.
I have not found any proof of Joshua's service, and he died before pensions were granted. I have not managed to check to see if he applied for bounty land based upon his War of 1812 service as did Daniel.
