Dear Mrs. Loy,
Thank you for your information. I am also a direct descendant of Charles and Lydia Muse Seale through their son James Seale (1769-1860), elder brother to your Joshua Seale.
You stated that Charles and Lydia Muse Seale's daughter Nancy Seale who married Robert Dickinson, Jr. was born in 1779 and died in 1849. Can you please tell me your sources? I have been trying to locate more documented information on her for some time.
However, my records do not match yours. Here is what I have:
Oct 1798 Nancy and Robert Dickinson of Moore Co NC signed a deed with the other heirs of Charles Seale of Fairfield Dist SC, giving the remainder of Charles Seale's land to Daniel Seale. Nancy Dickinson was named as one of the legal heirs of Charles Seale in this deed.
1800 Moore Co NC census: in the household of Robert Dickinson, the adult female was aged 45 or over.
These two pieces of information infer that Nancy Seale Dickinson was 45 or over in 1800, placing her birth before 1755.
Moreover, although I don't have proof yet, her eldest purported son was born in 1776!
Could you please send me more information on your sources, so we can hopefully clear this up, if possible?
