I'm really just piggybacking on my aunt (Louise Dickinson Aldrich)'s research, so please bear with me!
First, here's what I have on Robert Jr.'s father and siblings:
"Robert wrote his will December 10, 1759, and he died November 20, 1760. Through his will we know that his wife's name was Mary, his father was still alive at the writing date, and that four of his six children were minors.
His children were: James, Michael (Mikel), and minors: Willis, Charity, Sarah and Robert Jr.
Robert and Mary were buried in the Dickerson (as it was pronounced in the area) Cemetery." (in Glendon, NC, which my aunt has visited)
As to your questions:
#1. I don't know. My aunt's notes seem contradictory here; I need to track her down (she's on the road in her RV!) and clarify.
#2. Here's what I have on Robert Jr. & Nancy Seale and their offspring (the c.1773 marriage date fits pretty well with your info in #3):
"Robert Dickinson, Jr.,married Nancy Ann Seale, the daughter of Charles and Lydia (Muse) Seale of Moore County, North Carolina.
John Muse, Sr. b. 1633 d. Westmoreland Co., Va. His children included Thomas Muse Sr. d. 1731/2 married Elizabeth______.Their children included: James Muse, will dated 30 March 1758, married Sophia Pope, of Cumberland Co. N.C.James and Sophia's son James Muse Jr d. 1780, married Charity Dickinson, and daughter Lydia (Liddy) Muse married Charles Seale Sr. b Feb.10, 1729, King George Co.,Va. died 1798 Fairfield District, South Carolina. Charles was the fourth son of Anthony Seale, Prince William Co. Va. and Anne Bristow. Lydia and Charles Muse had a daughter Lydia who married Charles Seale in 1754. Charles and Lydia's daughter Nancy Ann Seale married RobertDickinson Jr ca.1773. And they had 12 or 13 children some of whom were:
1. James, b.February 11,1775; d.Feb. 5,1857 in Ga., married Sarah
Downs Brewster on March 23, 1802.She was born May 7, 1781, daughter of Mildred Downs and Jamaes Brewster. she died in Polk Co. Ga. before James. James and Nancy's children were:
1. Jesse b. 24 Feb 1803. Became an MD
2. James Jr. b. 22 Feb 1805
3. Mahala b. 14 July 1807 in Pendleton Dist, S.C.; d.8 April 1879, Polk Co. Ga.On 14 Dec 1826 married Lewis Sherrill Jr. b. 5 July 1805 in PendletonDist. S.C. d. 24 Feb 1850 in Burke Co. Ga.
4. Frances b. 24 Dec 1809, d. 31 Sept. 1834.MarriedThomas Powell 22 June 1830 in Anderson Dist. S.C.
5. Lewis b.24 Mar 1812
6.&7. possibly Mary and Robert.
James was appointed guardian to Nancy Brewster. The familymoved to Georgia.
2. Michael (301) b.28 Dec. 1776 d. 21 May 1860.
3. Charity married George Lewis, a local minister.
4. Robert drew land in Texas in 1835 and later went toGeorgia.
5. Lewis married Mary___, they were in Franklin Co,Ga. in1802.
Their daughter, Patsy, married Rev.Parker 1802 and went toTexas.
6. Jesse drew bounty land in Texas 1837.
7. John.
8. Clarissa b. 1791, married George Stewart, Lived Moore Co.N.C.
9. Zilla b. 1795 d.1873, married Joseph Jolly b. 1887,theymoved to Cass Co.(now Bartow), Ga. ca. 1838.Theirchildren were:
1. Levi Dickinson Jolly b. 1829 in South Carolina
2. Mariah b. 1831 in S.C.
3. James b.1833 in S.C.
4. Sarah b. 1835 in S.C.
5. Mary b. 1838 in Ga.
10. Mary married Reuben (Robin) Shields, son of Mary Overtonand Enoc Shields.
Robert Jr. and his family moved to Old Ninty?Six District, later call Pendleton District, South Carolina, as did others of the Muse family and the Charles Seale family.Robert did not leave a will when he died, but Nancy was administrator of the estate. The Inventory and Amount of Sales of the Estate can be found in Book A, Page 334, Moore County. After Robert died, Nancy went to live with Clarissa. When she died at age 109, she was buried in the Stewart gravelot between Deep River and Bear Creek Church."
Again, this implies that they went BACK to NC after SC. Yet the rest of my family (tracing from their son Michael)comes from Auburn, AL. Michael's son Robert Robinson Dickinson was born in Pendleton District, SC, 12-5-1815 according to an obit I have a transcription of, and Michael died in Alabama 5-21-1860. So sometime between 1815 and 1860 the family left SC for AL--yet Robert Sr. and Nancy seem to have retraced their steps to NC!
Sorry for such a lengthy reply. Any light you can shed would be much appreciated, and I can share more NC research if that's helpful.
