Jane: Have you found any additional information about your Rebecca Wiley who m1 William Seal and m2 Robert B. Thompson? In the 1860 census for Missouri Township, Ouachita County, Arkansas the census shows her with her mother - presumably a widow although she could have been either separated or divorced from her husband. In the household were: Mrs. E. [Ellen] Wiley 35 yo b. SC (b. ca 1825) Elizabeth Wiley 12 yo b. Alabama Sam'l Wiley 7 yo b. Arkansas William M. or W. Wiley 5 yo b. Arkansas Rebecca Wiley 4 yo b. Arkansas Martha Wiley 1 yo b. Arkansas Thomas Willey 24 yo b. Arkasas The age spread almost makes me wonder if Elizabeth and Thomas had one mother and the younger children were all Ellen's children. Or I wonder if Elizabeth was Ellen's by an earlier marriage but Elizabeth's surname was enumerated wrong. As you said, this family then settled in Austin County, Texas where Ellen had a baby only 1 yo named Alonzo. But she is still without a husband. Do you know whether or not Alonzo was actually her child - or were his parents related in some manner? Do you know what happened to Alonzo? Have you found a husband for Ellen? According to Rebecca (Wiley) (Seal) Thompson, her father was born in Alabama. But then she also reported that her mother was born in North Carolina - almost right, but not quite! My interest is primarily in Rebecca's possible brother, William Wiley b. ca 1855. But any information that you might have about the family could give me a clue for further search. Thank you.
