Tragedy in Hancock
Ten miles west of Sneedville at McNeil Foley's store, John Mullins shot and instantly killed George Seal, his uncle, while Seal's was begging him not to shoot. Mullins used a 16 - gauge shotgun and emptied the contents into Seal's stomach. Seal's cried "you have killed me " and then expired. Seal was one of Hancock County's good farmers and owned a river farm
He leaves a wife and large family of children. Mullins was placed in jail. He is a grandson of John and Mahala Mullins , the large woman of Hancock Co.The shooting occured Dec.24
