I descend from Nicholas Seahorn, Jr. through his daughter, Catherine Seahorn Swann. I've only been doing genealogy research for three years. I more-or-less gave up on the Seahorn line because I was having so much luck researching Swann, Ponder, Woodley, Goddard, etc., and I "accepted" the theory that Nicholas, Sr. descended from John Zehon/Zehorn, tailor, for Pennsylvania.
However, when I was searching some online records for the Woodley line in Isle of Wright, VA, I kept running across a RICHARD SEAHORN! This was in the 1600s & he seems to always live close to the Woodleys. Catherine Woodley married Nicholas Seahorn, Sr. in 1743, it seems possible that he descended from the Richard, who lived close to her ancestors. At first I thought it was unlikely because Nicholas, Sr. signed his name Zehon, as did his sons John & Nicholas, Jr. sometimes.
But it sure seems strange. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
