You are correct. Solomon SEAGRAVES was still alive in 1870. His wife is shown as "Smith" SEAGRAVES in the census. I was told that they were buried at Macedonia, but they are not in my "Taproots" listing, & could not find them on Findagrave either.

I am trying to determine the relationship of the SEAGRAVES to the HILL family. Maybe dau Lucy SEAGRAVES was the same as Leasy HILL? My Jesse HILL was living near (one household in between) a Thomas HILL, probably this same Thomas HILL, in the 1866 census. Does anyone know anything else about the Thomas HILL family?
I have checked the HILL family in Pike Co, GA, which lived near the SEAGRAVES, but Green HILL claimed to be born in GA, not NC.
