Recently published by The Genealogy Company were two books by Paul K Graham, "1805 Georgia Land Lottery Persons Entitled to Draws," (2005) and "1805 Georgia Land Lottery Fortunate Drawers and Grantees." (2004). Lists of participants and winners can be browsed at the website;

Among participants listed are Jacob SEAGRAVES and James SEGROVE. Also participating were 19 people with surnames spelled HAINES, HANES, and HAYNES, one of which was Elizabeth HAYNES.

Eligibility for the lottery required residence in George at least a year before the enabling land law was passed in May 1804. Males had to be white and at least age 21. Females had to be white and widowed with at least one legitmate child under age 21.
