Greetings Charles, the dates have puzzled me as well.

Also I note your inclusion of Thomas as a son of Jacob. Can you share with me please where you have found confirmation that either of the 1790/1800 census Jacob Segraves in the Wake County Censuses had a son named Thomas? I've long been in search of confirmation of the parentage of
Thomas Segraves, (yes born reportedly 1785, died 1815 in New Orleans) father of Alfred, Jefferson and Harvey. It would do my mind well to be able to close that link with any degree of certainty. Thanks.
