Rev War Pension No. S39067, DAR Pat. Index p. 600. Enlisted 1778 in Capt Joseph Rhode's Co, Col Dickson's Reg, NC Line, served 2 1/2 years. Listed in 1820 census Maury Co TN (area of Rev. War Bounty lands).
Pension application 4/22/1822 age 59 declared 2nd wife age about 40 children at home: son Wm age 15, dau Jincy age 14, son Jourdan about 12, son Henry 11, dau Polly 9, son Andrew Jackson 7, dau Melinda 4, son John 18 mos.
Transfer of pension requested 11 Oct 1828 to Clinton Co Il where children live. His wife Alinar (Eleanor) d before 20 May 1851 when dau Melinda Dorsey of Alton, Madison Co, IL applied for Bounty Land Warrant in Il for children of Jacob Seagrave.
"Bennett, Isaac, and William Seagraves were possibly also sons of JacobSeagraves, since they were listed next to each other and only two households away from Jacob Seagraves in the 1820 census records. They were all listed in the 26-45 age brackett. Isaac Seagraves married Polly Kilby in Maury Co TN May 9 1816. The Lockharts and Dorsey were also near neighbors of the Seagraves."
