Hi Linda;
"The Seagrave Family 1066-1936" shows Eleanor as the last child of Baron Nicholas de Segrave, b. 1238, d. 1295
and Matilda, dau of Baron de Lucy
Baron de Segrave is described as "A great Leicestershire landholder...in 1263 he was knighted by Henry III...summoned to Parliament as Baron Segrave in August 1283. Wounded and taken prisoner at the battle of Evesham". He was generally a rebel throughout his career.
Nicholas was the son of Sir Gilbert de Segrave and Annabelle de Chaucombe.
If you would like more info on the listed ancestors back to Thomas de Segrave in the Domesday Book, let me know.
