Fred Hansen was born in Naestved Denmark in 1883, immigrated to US with father, John and sisters Ansina(Sina), Thora, Emma and Ida. All children were farmed out - Fred (m. Elsie Meier) to Madsen family in Yankton, Ansina(Sina)(m.Harry Erum)to Coeur D Alene ID, Emma (m.Peter Sogge) to Windom, Mn, Ida (m. Jacob Schmuck) and Thora who died in Mpls. MN at age of 18 of TB. The mother was Anna Neilsen whom we do not have any records of except that she was born in Denmark and existed. Fred homesteaded approx. 10 miles N of Kimball, SD in early 1900's where he married Elsie, a neighbor girl in 1914. In the late 30's they moved to a farm 10 miles West of Sioux Falls. In the early 40's they moved to Sioux Falls. I have most of the up to date US information on his sisters families except for Ansina(Sina) who had two children, Arthur Erum and Loretta Erum by Harry Erum and sister Thora who died. Loretta Erum married Dale English and I believe they still live in Coeur D Alene, ID.

There are eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren of the Fred and Elsie Hansen family mostly living in a 100 mile radius of Sioux Falls, SD. There are many decendents of the sister, Emma, who mostly live around Windom, MN.

I would like any information on the section of the family who live in Idaho and also any information on the family in Denmark. My great grandfather, John Frederick Hansen was born in Denmark and is buried near Kimball, SD.

If you are interested in this Hansen family, please email me and I will give you the information you need.
