Yes, that does like him as the enumerator. Cool, huh? It must have been a part time gig away from the farm that he owned. I have a homestead map from 1884 and it looks like his dad had acreage in Section 28 in Glenwood Township as you will discover from that book. You can get copies of his papers from Bureau of Land Management. He was naturalized so maybe you can get his original papers for that too - which is fun to round out the research. You are on a roll!! I use genealogy.com for the 1900 census though I have ancestry.com too. I find him on page 128a - that is the number on the image itself not ancestry's number.
