Sorry it has taken me years to respond to your help.
I don't think this Simon A. Steen is correct, reason being in the 1920 Census it shows his son Martin (47)living with him when he was 74. The Simon Steen I am looking for had a son, Peter Martin Steen who died in 8 Apr 1940 in Chamberlain, S. Dak. In the 1920 Census of Brule County it show Peter M. Steen (49) living with his wife, Lena Franzke and 3 boys, Theodore Henry (My Grandpa, Pete, 1903), Walter (1907-1929) and Alfred (1909-1933). They also had a girl, Helen May (1 Dec 1900 to 21 May 1901) who died at 6 months old. Even though I know that Peter Martin and Lena didn't live together for many years, I know that he stayed in the Chamberlain area.
Peter Martin Steen was raised by his mother's parents, their name was Jackson and lived in the Union County, South Dakota. That is written on the back of a picture that I have of the Jacksons.
Thanks for your help and if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them. I am stuck on this and can't seem to get any farther with this line.
