I thought the name Leverett rang a bell, so I looked at the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) home page for homesteads. And, Leverett T. Harper is listed twice as a homesteader in Minnehaha county, in 1884 and again in 1888.
Type in "BLM" on a search, like, and that will give you BLM's main page. At the bottom of that page is a green box, the last choice being "General Land Office (genealogy)." This will get you their second page. At the top of that page is a choice, "Search Land Patents."
This will get you a zip code request, as they want to know where you live. Then (phew), you can pick state and name. I simply typed in Harper and got a list of about 50, one being Leverett, mentioned twice.
You can use this site to check the other names too.
bye, dj
