Early 1900 homesteading in Perkins Co.

Would someone have enough time to give me an idea of what was happening in the county during 1900-1905. My grandfather's brother and his wife homesteaded in 1904. A partial diary of that year was kept. Things I remember being mentioned were Lemmon, Lodgepole (Creek, I think), Seim/Siem Ranch, sod houses, no fences which ruined half the day looking for cows and horses, dreadful April weather. My great uncle was an engineer and had the McIntosh to Lemmon run. By Sept. he went on to Washington and she went back to MN to sell their house. Not a good year. At some point I ran across something that stated the land was used as a reservoir. Other distant relatives also moved into the area later and ended up in Lemmon. How large is Lemmon? Thank you.
