Looking for information on family line for EVA J POMEROY.
This couple is found:
1) US Census 1920 and 1930 in Elk, Sully County, So Dak
2) South Dakota Marriages, 1905-1949
3) Ancestry.com. Gives her middle name as Irene.
Ancestry.com traces her family line:
Eva Irene Pomeroy, b 18 Oct 1894, Illinois
Charles Arthur Pomeroy, b July 1868, Illinois
Asahel Dwight Pomeroy, b 24 Nov 1821, Chester, Mass
Asa Pomeroy, b late 1700's, Chester, Mass
I have NOT found them in Albert A Pomeroy's History and
Genealogy of the Pomeroy Family pub 1912, 1922 (descendants of Eltweed Pomeroy who came to America about 1630, from England).
I'm trying to trace this family line back to the immigrant who came to America. Was it Eltweed Pomeroy? If not, then who?
Additional information:
Edward Freeland was a farmer in Elk, Sully County, So Dak.
They had 5 children that I know of:
Viola Freeland, b abt 1917
Josephine Freeland, b abt 1919
Carol Freeland, b abt 1920
Neil Freeland, b abt 1925
and another son, apparantly, born after 1930.
The South Dakota marriage informatiion lists their Marriage County as Hand; their County of Residence as Hughes.
