1. JOHN LEFEBVRE1 LAFAVE was born 1835 in Montreal, Canada, and died in South Dakota. He married CATHERINE UNKNOWN 1870 in Montreal, Canada. She was born 1842 in Montreal Canada, and died in South Dakota.
Notes for JOHN LEFEBVRE LAFAVE:
In 1877 John and Catherine travelled by Oxen-drawn coverd wagons into the Dakota Territory to an area that later became Union South Dakota. It is believed John or his father was a fur trader. They travelled in a troup of French families including the LeBlancs, Cherie and Damos Raymonds. They had 3 children in Canada prior to coming to the Dakota territory. Louis, also called Frenchy, Clara and Herbert who became Albert in the United States. In the 1900 Census, Albert was listed as being 1 year old, however, he had been in the United States for 23 years st the time. Two children were born in the United States, Emidos and Regina. It is believed Cathering died first, and John remarried.

2. iv. ALBERT LAFAVE, b. March 12, 1876, Montreal Canada; d. March 24, 1958, Burke, South Dakota.
3. v. EMIDOS N. LAFAVE, b. April 1879, South Dakota.
