Still looking for your MN/IL families. Ran out of time today at the NARA. As far as George Worthington Winn. He and his family are listed in the 1880 Census in Deadwood, Lawrence, SD ED 120, Page 48, Line 45 George Age 56 Born in ME, Parents born in ME listed as a mine speculator Wife Susan Age 49 Born in OH Children: EL (son) Age 27 Miner born in OH Nettie (daughter) Age 18 born in OH Charles (son) Age 6 born in OH Gale Hill also in ED 120, Page 68, Line 5 Age 27 born in MO, Father born in OH Mother born ? - His occupation is listed as Constable. The image is poor and I was not able to make out who he was living with. The household number is opposite "______ Madge/Margaret"(?) listed as wife. Gale is the next entry. The entry above the _____ (it actually is a line)looks like Thomas Harvey but he would be in the previous household unless the census takers entry was in error. For more information on the Winn family you might want to see if you can locate a copy of 'Some History of Lawrence County' published by the Lawrence County Historical Society. Some genealogy libraries carry it. It confirms some of the information you have. The articles in the book were written by LaVerne Leeman Lang the granddaughter of Edgar Lamont (EL) Winn and Henrietta Dietrich. Also Nettie Winn married Gale E. Hill. I'll check the 1900 SD census for the Winn's the next time I go and I'll try to find the King's and the Wilcox's also. Hope the above helps. I only make it down to the NARA about once a month so please be patient. Edna
