In the 1880's our ancestors moved from Clayton Co. Iowa to Plankinton SD, Aurora County, for homesteading land. We have found land patents for:
James McGovern m Anna Clifford
Patrick McGovern m Ellen Ryan
*had 2 children in SD; Patrick 1883 and Margaret b 1885.*
James Ryan m Mary Ryan
Michael Carroll m Ellen Armsby (spelling?)
John Carroll m Mary Ryan
(Ellen Ryan, James Ryan and Mary Ryan m to John Carroll are all siblings, children of Edward and Margaret Ryan of Monona, Iowa- Clayton Co.)
